Samsung galaxy S11 : leaks, and what to expect

The Samsung galaxy S series, being Samsung’s flagship mobile phones have arguably been the most anticipated series in the industry and this trend doesn’t seem to end anytime soon. The Samsung galaxy S11 renderes were leaked few days ago from very reliable sources and trust me, the design is amazing!

Here are some key features of the samsung galaxy S11:

1. The design: The Samsung galaxy S11 is expected to look really similar to one of its cousins in the Samsung galaxy note series, the note 10. This is actually due to the punch hole camera samsung is said to have adopted following some negative customer reviews as to the lack of balance and having to tilt thier galaxy S10 before they could actually get a more centralised selfie. On my part, I believe this is a bold step for Samsung, and it seems like they listen more to thier customers for better improvements on subsequent devices.

2. The Processor: The Samsung S11 is expected to come with a powerful and low battery consuming chipset, the Snapdragon 865. The chipset is said to be over 40% more efficient and has optimisation for games and even videos. It enables a lot more from camera to video recording (up to 8k video recording), super fluid performance even with the heaviest of games and a whole lot more!. You could check out our post about the Snapdragon 865 for more details.

3. The Camera: here, Samsung seems to be flowing with the trend and even setting paces doing that following the likes of Xiaomi, Nokia, Pixel, iPhone, and the likes of others with the same camera intensive devices. The Samsung galaxy S11 is said to stack 5 cameras at the back!!! Isn’t that amazing? We don’t know the exact distribution of these cameras, probably a main camera (wide), ultra-wide camera, telephoto lens, depth sensing lens, and probably a macro lens for taking super detailed macro shots. Hence, we might be seeing more of macro shots on instagram in no time 😁.

Whether we will once again see a cheaper ‘e’ variant remains to be seen, but our money is on at least two variants in the Galaxy S11 and S11 Plus, differentiated once again by the size of their screens (currently 6.1in and 6.4in respectively), battery capacities (3,400mAh and 4,100mAh) and camera capabilities (single/dual-lens selfie cameras).

What will Samsung’s next flagship be called?

There is some talk in Korea that Samsung’s next flagship may not be called the S11 at all. We’ve seen plenty of companies that use this simple numeric naming system switch things up when they get to 10 – think Huawei, Microsoft, Apple to name a few – because it starts to get a bit confusing.

Samsung has neither confirmed nor denied the claim, but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see it ditch the numbers altogether and revert to something simpler such as Samsung Galaxy S (2020).

Recently, reliable leakster @evleaks has chipped in on the conversation, revealing he has heard Samsung is considering combining the Galaxy S and Note series. Instead of a Galaxy S11, we might actually see a Samsung Galaxy One, he says.

When is the Samsung Galaxy S11 coming out?

Expect Samsung to make a Galaxy S11 announcement in an Unpacked press conference ahead of MWC, which in 2020 takes place 24-27 February. We’re likely to see a new LG G9 and Xiaomi Mi 10 at the same show. As in previous years the Galaxy S11 will almost certainly be available to pre-order immediately, but actually on sale in March of that year – at which point we may have a new contender for our best phones chart.

How much will the Galaxy S11 cost?

For now we have no reason to expect Samsung will hike its prices up any further than it has with the Galaxy S10 line-up. It’s possible we could see some variation if 5G is indeed included on all versions of the phone, but remember that at some stage 5G is going to become the new normal, and the technology is expected to become widespread next year. Hence we’re likely to see a slight increase in price of all variants (if any) of the samsung galaxy S11 or samsung galaxy One.
